Youth injuries are wild to see up close. Teaching at a high school in a small town in Texas you see bunches of students limping about in casts and walking boots due to football and other sports. I've even taught an entire unit about the risk of injury in youth sports where students learn that girls soccer is the second highest rate of concussions behind football, and we watch videos where a 16 year old girl has to retire due to 3 knee injuries. It's wild. It's not bad in and of itself, but we don't do a good job making the risks clear, and doing everything we can to minimize them.
