I love the Hard cap hard floor idea. It’s one I’ve been long pressing for. They say ownership is the biggest competitive advantage and I’d rather it wasn’t, and that would fix it.
Would you also eliminate max contracts, and let owners pay players what they’re worth? (Technically, There would be an artificial max of 14 minimums and one $100M player or whatever). It would create an interesting experiment in team building. Would a true max player be worth it? Now superstars taking pay cuts to play together would actually be hurting their wallet (cutting $50m a year would be enough to make anyone think). Or would it be better to get more mid tier players? I’ve always been fascinated to see how it would play out.
