Lol easiest "Ya that's a fucked up organization, full of people following their fucked up incentives" ever
Seeing you and Pablo on a pod together is like content made in a lab for me haha. I gasped when I saw the thumbnail!
I really don't know how I'm supposed to enjoy hardcore following the NBA like this anymore. I can't even tell what the product is anymore if there's not some semblance of a system of trust and reality in sport.
Really entertaining and informative stuff. Thanks to both of you for putting this together. I’m really intrigued to see how the NBA in general and the Commish in particular spin this when they have to actually address it.
Been hoping for this crossover for a while. I'm halfway through listening and wanted to ask if you still have that stack of investigations that law firms did, I'd be interested in diving in that rabbit hole
At the end of the episode you and Pablo discuss due diligence, and how there's an apparent lack of it regarding business partners - the question it brings up for me is if their due diligence with their money is this bad, how bad is it for hiring referees? How much of the development, coaching, training staffs are con men?
The way Pablo discussed "cashing in credibility" made me think of how people describe the business environment of Post-Soviet Russia, where people describe the wealthy as effectively vacuuming up any remaining value from the government and society
