Maybe the draft will be better like this

Pandemics reduce distractions and hype

BY DAVID THORPE

The Warriors’ brain trust, led by the brilliant Bob Myers and Steve Kerr, is clueless. We all are. Will there be playoffs? Is this season over? When will next season start?

But they know one thing: There will be an NBA draft, and the Warriors will have a high pick. Whiffing with a high pick can cost you your job even in good times. In this case, a mid-dynasty team with stars in their primes has donated a whole season, and talented players besides, to a strategy of getting huge value out of this draft.

And now they can’t even meet the prospects in person. They must be sweating that. Terrible, right?

On the contrary. I suspect this year will be a high water mark for talent evaluation.
