Is Derrick White the king of crunch time?

Or is he more like the senator of crunch time?

Quick note: brilliant stuff here from Owen Phillips of the F5 about why the Blazers’ defense has been so effective over the second-half of the season.

Even if this chart is accurate–it’s at least outdated–I don’t think it means that Derrick White has been practicing better than everyone or has magical ice in his veins. I don’t think “get the ball to Derrick and watch” would be a good offensive strategy.

Instead, I’m pretty sure the message instead is that Derrick White is one of a big group of NBA players who are lights-out shooters. Along with 100 or so others, he’s incredible.

But he’s on top of this list for a couple of funkier reasons.
